Dr. Stéphane Gidenne
“Since its installation the system has been completely satisfactory, and even exceeded what we expected. We have better traceability and we gained in quantity and quality.”
Automation fundamentally changes the way we work by: allowing more efficient use of scarce resources; increasing capacity, productivity and efficiency; increasing job satisfaction by reducing work pressure and stress; improving traceability and quality assurance; and by using modern technology and image analysis.

Project & Change Management
Understanding what automation means to the microbiology laboratory, the technologies involved and the complexities within the solutions available in the marketplace can be confusing.
So when you are ready to make the decision to move toward microbiology lab automation you need to partner with a provider who has the experience necessary to help you achieve your goals; a provider who understands that it is more than installing the technology.
BD’s approach to lab automation combines the best of project management and change management and can help you manage timelines, change your workflow and teach you how to guide your staff through all of the changes—not only because we know that it is the right approach, but because we have nearly eight years of experience helping other customers achieve their microbiology lab automation goals.
Our project team will begin with involvement during the sales cycle by understanding what your goals are, why you’re choosing automation, providing guidance on floor plans and renovations, evaluating workflow, determining technical specifications, and helping you to make the decisions that will ensure you achieve your goals.
We’ve been able to capitalize on the knowledge and experience that we’ve gained through nearly a decade of installations to develop a Project Department with a staff who are dedicated to helping your organization run more efficiently.
We understand that change can be daunting and without understanding the people element—without providing guidance to you and your staff on how to handle the emotional aspects of such projects—collectively we will fall short of our goals. That’s why we focus on how to show your employees the positive impact that your new system will have on them. Our solutions don’t just improve your responsiveness; they also allow your employees the opportunity to work more efficiently.
Our teams are there to guide you, and provide answers, coaching and support.
“Leading Change” Module
We have created training modules for each component of the BD Kiestra ™ lab automation solution. The objective of the “leading change” module is to apply a systematic approach to helping the individuals affected by the lab evolution. The module builds support, addresses initial resistance, and develops the required knowledge and ability to implement the new system.
By installing mock labs prior to system implementation, your employees can become acclimated with the new technology which results in shorter training time, greater acceptance of the system and faster go-live time. It integrates organizational analysis, expectation management, user training and instrument ownership.
This program defines and supports a solution for your organization to improve quality and accuracy, increase productivity and efficiency and positively impact patient care.
We at BD build, train, service, and support your automation system. One company, total support.
